PROJECT: I began Lisa's bathroom remodel by removing the tile shower walls and the underlying sheet rock and insulation. After removing the tub I was ready to begin rebuilding. I framed-in recessed cubbies for soap and shampoo, supervised installation of a new tub, insulated the walls and laid vapor barrier before installing James Hardie brand HardieBacker Concrete Board (Backerboard).
 
All of this work, just to get ready to tile! 

 After tiling and grouting, I installed a clear shower door and new linoleum.
 
As a final touch, I replaced the old tile backsplash around the sink with the decorative tile matching the shower.
